Orville Lee Waters, 72, of Carlinville, died Sunday morning, Dec. 26, 1993, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Kane, the son of Robert Payton and Josie Lee Emmons Waters. He married Hazel Wilson Aug. 14, 1941, in Bowling Green, Mo. She survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Shirley Lee Motley of Godfrey; two sons, Orville Dean Waters of Streator and Phillip Eugene Wates of Athens; a sister, Lorean Patterson of Modesto; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Waters.
Mr. Waters was a retired farmer from the Hettick area. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army's 42nd Rainbow Division. He was a member of the Carlinville Southern Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Carlinville Southern Baptist Church with burial at Youngblood Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Memorials are suggested to the Carlinville Southern Baptist church.
