ROODHOUSE - Hallie E. True, 85, of Murrayville, died Tuesday evening, April 8, 1997, at her residence.

She was born, Jan. 24, 1912, in Roodhouse, the daughter of Franklin and Mary Dyer Hopper. She married Herbert H. True on Nov. 21, 1927, in Jacksonville, and he survives.

She is also survived by one son, Roger (wife Shirley) of Murrayville; one daughter, Juanita (husband Charles) Howerton of Murrayville; one brother, Donald Hopper of Alton; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Theodore, William and Jesse; and one sister, Laura Whitaker.

Mrs. True was a seamstress at J. C. Capps in Jacksonville before retiring. She was a member of the Harts Prairie Missionary Baptist Church in rural Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mackey-Daws funeral Home in Murrayville with burial at Youngblood Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Harts Prairie Church.
