Obituary

Elizabeth B. Kenyon, daughter of James and Jean Kenyon was born near Neeleyville, Morgan county, April 30, 1867; and passed away after an illness of several months, Nov. 25, 1922.

She was converted in early life, and was a consistent member of Youngblood Baptist Church. She was untied in marriage to David S. Taylor, September 15, 1887, and to this union were born three children, Mrs. N. F. Edwards, Laurens, Iowa, Ethel who passed away March 19, 1915, and Clarence Lee Taylor of Jacksonville. Her aged mother, seven sisters and one brother also mourn her; Mrs. Henry Vortman of Neeleyville, Mrs. Mary Aitken of Parson, Kansas; James Kenyon and Misses Janet and Jean Kenyon of Neeleyville; Mrs. Annie Warner of Basset, Iowa; Mrs. Agnes Ohler, Winchester and Miss Marian Kenyon of Jacksonville.

During her brief illness she was patient and calm and uncomplainingly awaited god's holy will. In the last hours she gave evidence of pleasure and happiness not known in this world, and gave full assurance that she was prepared to go. The breach in the family and surrounding communities from the loss of one of such uncommon promise is only mended in the knowledge of His eternal will.

The funeral services were conducted from Youngblood Baptist church by the Rev. Roy March of White Hall. Interment was made in the Youngblood cemetery.

The music was furnished by the church choir. The pallbearers were Henry Whitlock, Jack Fanning, Zeke Edwards, Albert Grider, Walter Kitchen and Bub McNeely. The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Margaret Blakeman, Misses Jane Wright, Gracie Oehler, Dorothy Oehler, Kathleen Oehler and Jeanette Vortman.

The dense throng of old and young that crowded the church gave expression of public sentiment in behalf of our departed friend, faithful wife and loving mother.

The beautiful floral gifts that covered the grave were the last tributes of respect and admiration that anxious hands could do. The entire community join in their sympathy for the heart broken family.
