Mary Maxwell, 72, dies Sunday morning

Mary M. Maxwell, 72, formerly of 125 Havendale Drive, died Sunday morning, June 17, 1990, at the Jacksonville Convalescent Center.

She was born Sept. 30, 1917, in Jacksonville, the daughter of George and Effie Seymour Jones. She married Russell Kehl on June 30, 1946 and he died on Jan. 13, 1970. She then married Thomas Maxwell on Oct. 1, 1972 and he died on Jan. 19, 1985.

Surviving are a son, Harold Dean Jones of Jacksonville; a great-granddaughter, Amanda Jones of Virden; one step-granddaughter, Denise Hill of Jacksonville; a sister, Lucy Stillwell of Jacksonville; one brother, Paul Jones of Havana. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Maxwell worked for many years at Barr's Laundry in Jacksonville and MacMurray College. She attended Murrayville Baptist Church.

Private burial services will be held at the Nortonville Cemetery. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
