Ruby Esther Lawrence
1916 - 1997

FRANKLIN - Ruby Esther Lawrence, 81, of Chapin, died Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 30, 1997, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

She was born Oct. 28, 1916, in Alexander, the daughter of Stephen Frank and Julia Mae Long Ridder. She married Delbert Addam Lawrence on Dec. 22, 1938, and he survives.

She is also survived by one son, James Edwin (wife, Kim) of Jacksonville; three daughters, Evelyn Rigor of Chapin, Elizabeth L. Cummins of Roodhouse, Ruth Ann (husband, Bill) Williams of Jacksonville; one brother, Wayne Ridder of Montana; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Mrs. Lawrence was a homemaker and a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Youngblood Baptist Church in Nortonville with burial at Youngblood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Neece Funeral Home in Franklin.
