Merle C. French

Merle Clayton French, a farmer residing southwest of Scottville, died at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 29, in the office of Dr. Gause, in Palmyra.

Deceased was born Jan. 10, 1906, the son of the late James and Nellie Killebrew French.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin Gibbs of Modesto and Dorothy Jean, at home; and a sister, Lelia Welch of Lockport.

He was a member of the Scottville Masonic Lodge and a past patron of the Scottville Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held at the Neece Funeral Home in Waverly Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Henry Loafman officiating. Burial was in Youngblood cemetery at Nortonville.
