Sam Chaudoin of Nortonville Dies at Age 55

Sam Chaudoin, 55 year old resident of Nortonville, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Norris hospital where he had become a patient the preceding day.

He was born at Nortonville March 3, 1913, son of Ezra and Janie Mason Chaudoin. He was married Sept. 4, 1937 to the former Clara Louise McCann, who survives.

Two sons survive, Carroll and Paul, both of Greenfield, and five daughters: Mrs. Terry Adams of Garden Grove, Calif.; Mrs. Patsy Jackson of Rapid City, S.D.; Mrs. Lydia Whitlock of Murrayville; Juanita and Sylvia at home.

Also surviving are three brothers: William, of Jacksonville, Ralph and Monroe, both of Franklin route one; two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Hogan and Mrs. Harlan Witherbee, of Jacksonville, and five grandchildren.

The remains were taken to the Neece Funeral Home, Franklin, where the family met friends Saturday evening.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Youngblood Baptist church in Nortonville, Reverend Kenneth Anders officiating. The church choir sang, "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "Ten Thousand Angels Sing"; also Harold Walkington, soloist, sang "Precious Lord, Take My Hand." Miss Brenda Whitlock was the organist.

Caring for flowers were Rosie Medlock, Joan Allen, Mary Knapp, Judy Dugger, Mary Beddingfield, Irene Wood, Wilma Mansfield, Melody Carmer, Georgia Wills and Dorothy Hielman.

Pallbearers were Henry Chaudoin, Jack Chaudoin, Michael Woolfolk, Leslie Cox, Joe White and Bill Witherbee.

Interment was in the church cemetery.
