Leonard Wayne Britenstine
Leonard Wayne Britenstine died last Friday evening at Barnes hospital, St. Louis, where he had been a patient for four weeks, being 33 years of age.
He was born August 13, 1912, near Nortonville, the son of Joseph and Carrie Britenstine. He was engaged in farming southwest of Waverly until he became ill.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys, and five children, Kenneth, Alice, Thomas, Harold and Frederick, all at home.
He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Carrie Miner, of Franklin; three brothers, Lloyd of Skokie, Edgar of Waverly, and Arthur of Franklin; also two sisters, Mrs. Helen Mansfield of Modesto, and Mrs. John Tosh of Waverly.
Funeral services were held at the Youngblood Baptist church at Nortonville Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. Henry Spencer, of Jacksonville, officiating.
Mrs. Orval Mutch sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", "Golden Bells", and "Goodnight and Good Morning," the accompanist being Mrs. Lloyd Sorrells.
The pall bearers were Everett Starner, Lawrence Myers, Keith Forrester, Robert Whitlock, Harry Dickerson, John Cain, Daniel Cain and Van Seymour.
Those caring for the flowers were Mrs. Leonard Walker, Mrs. Keith Forrester, Mrs. Everett Brogdon, Mrs. Floyd Dickerson and Miss Irma Starner.
Burial was in Youngblood cemetery.
