Charles Joseph Britenstine, aged 30 years, son of Mrs. Carrie Miner of near Franklin, died at 7 o'clock Friday evening at Passavant hospital, Jacksonville, where he had been a patient for a day. He had been ill for some time.

Deceased was the son of Joseph W. and Carrie Wood Britenstine, and was born near Nortonville, March 11, 1915. His father preceded him in death; also one brother, T/5 Russell Britenstine, died April 30, 1944, from wounds received in action in Italy, and memorial services for him were held in Jacksonville June 18, 1944.

Besides his mother, he is survived by four brothers, Floyd of Skokie, Wayne of Nortonville, Edgar, who is with the U.S. Army in Germany, and Arthur of Franklin; and two sisters, Mrs. Otis Mansfield and Mrs. John Tosh of Waverly, besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Youngblood Baptist church at Nortonville Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, Rev. Henry Spencer officiating.

Mrs. Beulah Mutch, Mrs. Laura Seymour and Lloyd Spencer sang "In the Garden," "Face to Face" and "God Will Take Care of You," accompanied by Vera Sorrills at the piano.

The pall bearers were Leonard Walker, Everette Starner, Norman Austif, Henry Dickerson, Lawrence Myers and Thomas Miner.

The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Lawrence Myers, Mrs. Keith Forrester, Mrs. George Scott, Misses Bertha Starner, Irma Starner and Emma Jean Pitchford.

Burial was in the Youngblood cemetery.
