Guy R. Alexander

FRANKLIN - Guy R. Alexander, 94, of Jacksonville died Saturday evening, Nov. 13, 1993, in Jacksonville.

He was born July 26, 1899, in Nortonville, the son of John Large and Katherine Alexander. He married Mabel Bolton May 29, 1929, in Franklin. She survives.

He is also survived by three daughters, Clara Bow Cox of Groveland, Mary Fontella Wilson of Santa Fe, Mo., and Rosa Lee Windell of Jacksonville; three half-brothers, Kenneth Large of Peoria, Clifford Large of Florida and Donald Large of Steelville, Mo.; seven half-sisters, Evelyn Vedder of Missouri, Gladys Woolfolk of Scottville, Merle Dugger of Palmyra, Minnie Stillwell of Redondo Beach, Calif., Louise Chaudoin of Franklin, Cora Perry of Jacksonville and Alice Large of Concord; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Alexander was a heavy machine operator, building roads in this area and other states. He was a member of the Fur Trappers Club and the National Rifle Association. He attended the Youngblood Baptist Church in Nortonville.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Youngblood Baptist Church in Nortonville with burial at Youngblood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Franklin. Memorials are suggested to orphan or homeless organizations.
