WATSON, ALFRED

Just one month to the day after the death of his brother the late Theodore Watson. Alfred Watson departed his life at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday March 4th.

Alfred Watson was the son of Henry and Julia Watson of East Windsor Hill, Conn., and was born at that place May 12th 1816.

He came west in 1838, stopping first in Jacksonville and later coming to Waverly. With the exception of the few years he spent in Alton and fourteen years (1847-1862) given to the steamboat service on the Mississippi river, he has made his home in Waverly. He never married and for the last thirty years had lived at the home of his brother here.

He had enjoyed robust health until recently and his death was due to the infirmities of age.

He is survived by a sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at the house at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. H. A. Stowell officiating.
