HART, BERT W.

Bert W. Hart, 72, a retired farmer of Virden, died last Friday evening at Memorial hospital, in Springfield where he had been a patient since Thursday. Mr. Hart had formerly been a resident of the Waverly community for 30 years. He was a native of Scottville, being the son of William and Matilda Hart, and resided in the Scottville and Waverly communities until 1938, when he moved to Virden, where he operated a milk route for three years.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; one son, Butler, of Virden; six daughters, Mrs. Stella Grider of Auburn, Mrs. Ola Pitchford of Murrayville, Mrs. Louise Miner of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Lucinda Staley and Mrs. Alma McCary of Springfield, and Mrs. Laura Hart of Alberta, Canada; 25 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was a member of the Waverly Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at the Berry Funeral Home in Virden Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Miss Ruth Nicklin, pastor of the Virden Christian church, officiating.

Burial was in East cemetery, Waverly.
