FORD, WALTER WILLIAM

Walter W. Ford, 79, of Waverly died Thursday, Oct. 21, at Community Hospital in Springfield.

Born March 9, 1903 in Jetmore, Kansas, he was the son of John and Lillie Belle Stephens Ford.

He married Helen Seales on May 9, 1934. She survives.

Also surviving are five children: Shirley Vinnola, Kay Mayes, Jean Robertson, John Ford and Nancy Howard; 3 sisters, Blossom Dippold, Irene Ford, Clara Belle Glenn and a brother, Glen Ford.

There are 14 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Ford.

Mr. Ford was a retired appliance dealer. He was a member of the Waverly Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.

Pallbearers were his 10 grandsons, Jim & Jerry Vinnola, Gary, Mike and Ron Mayes, Jeff Ford, Marc Robertson, Phil, Greg, and Bryan Howard. Honorary pallbearers were Dillon Swingle, Royal Green, Robert Norton and Irving Tongate.

Services were held at Neece Funeral Home with burial in Waverly East Cemetery.


FORD, HELEN SEALES

Helen Seales Ford, 78, of Waverly, died Sunday morning, August 31, 1986 at her residence in Waverly.

She was born April 17, 1908 in Waverly, the daughter of Louis and Clara Verry Seales.

She married Walter Ford on May 9, 1934. He preceded her in death October 21, 1982.

She is survived by four daughters: Jean Robertson and Kay Mayes of Jacksonville; Shirley Vinnola of Lakewood, Colorado, and Nancy Howard of Cary, North Carolina; one son, John Ford of Omaha, Neb., 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was a member of the Waverly Congregational Church, and a fifty-year member of the Waverly Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Neee Funeral Home in Waverly.

Burial was in Waverly Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Waverly Rescue Squad.

Pallbearers were Jim Vinnola, Jerry Vinnola, Jeff Ford, Gary Mayes, Michael Mayes, Ron Mayes, Phil Howard, Greg Howard, Bryan Howard, Marc Robinson and Jared Travis.


FORD, JOHN SEALES

December 22, 2007

John S. Ford, 64, of Bellevue, Neb., died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 in Bellevue, Neb.

He was born Jan. 3, 1943, in Waverly, the son of Walter and Helen Seales Ford. He married Grace Stephenson, and she survives.

He is also survived by two sons, John Jeffrey of Bellevue, Neb., and Seth (wife, Celeste) of San Diego; two daughters, Tracy (husband, Robert) Brodhead of Columbia, Mo., and Jen of Chicago; four grandchildren, Sarah, Ronan, Sam and Isabel; and two sisters, Jean (husband, Morrie) Robertson of Jacksonville and Nancy (husband, Jim) Howard of Raleigh, N.C.

Mr. Ford was a member of VFW Post 2280 and FOE 3912. He retired as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Waverly East Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly. Memorials are suggested to Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home. Condolences may be left at www.airsman-hires.com.


MAYES, AUDREY KAY FORD

Audrey Kay Mayes, 62, of Jacksonville, died Saturday morning, June 10, 2000, at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.

She was born May 8, 1938, in Waverly, the daughter of Walter William and Helen Fern Seales Ford. She married Donald F. Mayes July 20, 1960 in Waverly, and he survives.

She is also survived by three sons, Gary (wife, Dawn) Mayes of Parker, Colo., Michael (wife, Andrea) Mayes of Petersburg and Ronald (wife, Debbie) Mayes of Lakewood, Colo.; one daughter, Lori (husband, Steve) Doolin of Glasgow; one brother, John (wife, Grace) Ford of Omaha, Neb.; three sisters, Shirley (husband, Jim) Vinnola of Lakewood, Colo., Janice (husband, Maurice) Robertson of Jacksonville and Nancy (husband, Jim) Howard of Cary, N.C.; ten grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a registered nurse at the Jacksonville Correctional Center for many years.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Neece Funeral Home in Waverly. The family will receive friends from noon Tuesday until the time of services. Burial will be at Waverly East Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Hospice in Springfield.


ROBERTSON, WILLIAM EVANS

William E. Robertson, 93, of Waverly, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

He was born June 20, 1909, in Butler, the son of William E. and Minnie Louise Masters Robertson. He married Clara Isabella Newberry March 14, 1936, in Waverly, and she survives.

He is also survived by one son, Maurice "Morrie" (wife, Jean) of Jacksonville; one daughter, Diane (husband, Jerry) Miller of Pawnee; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Lester; and two sisters, Josephine Turner and Mildred Hulbert.

Mr. Robertson retired from Robertson Brothers Garage in Modesto. He was a 50-year member of Waverly Masonic Lodge 118 and a 50-year member of Wilber Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 358 in Jacksonville.

Following cremation, memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at Neece Funeral Home in Waverly, where the family will receive friends one hour before service time. Burial will be at Waverly East Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Waverly First Baptist Church Building Fund.


ROBERTSON, CLARA ISABELLA NEWBERRY

Clara I. Robertson, 89, of Waverly, died early Sunday morning, Feb. 20, 2005, at St. John's North in Springfield.

She was born May 21, 1915, in Waverly, the daughter of Charles and Alma Rogers Newberry. She married William Robertson on March 14, 1937, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Maurice (wife, Jean) of Jacksonville; one daughter, Diane (husband, Jerry) Miller of Pawnee; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Robertson was retired from Mobil Chemical. She was a member of Waverly First Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Waverly First Baptist Church, with burial at Waverly East Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Waverly First Baptist Church or the Waverly Senior Citizens Center. Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly is in charge of arrangements.
