
MASON CITY- Homer W. Meyer, 88, of Mason City died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home, Petersburg.
He was born June 13, 1910, the son of Adolph and Nellie Crawford Meyer.
Mr. Meyer was a member of Indian Point Presbyterian Church.
Survivors: three daughters, Eleanor Birch of Mason City and Marilyn Egger and Carolyn Sloan, both of Springfield; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Meyer of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Mott and Henning Funeral Home, Athens, the Rev. William Swaar officiating. Burial: Waverly East Cemetery.

Mrs. Ada Maude Ohmart, 84, a long time resident of Waverly, died Tuesday evening, July 27, at Norris Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born August 27, 1886 in Girard, the daughter of Wm. and Addie Curtis McMahan. She married Chester Ohmart on November 23, 1905 and he preceded her in death in November of 1970.
She is survived by a daughter, Bernice Rutherford of Waverly, and a son, Donald of Saunemin.
There are nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The deceased was a member of the Roodhouse Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and of the Waverly Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held this Friday morning at 10:30 at the Neece Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Waverly East Cemetery.

OBITUARY
Chester A. Ohmart, 89, passed away early Saturday morning, October 24, at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville. He had been a resident of this city for the past 17 years, and prior to that time had served as a telephone lineman at Roodhouse for 25 years.
Born October 8, 1881 near Girard, he was the son of Dayton and Susan Riffey Ohmart. On April 23, 1905, he married Ada McMahan, who survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bernice Rutherford of this city; a son Donald, of Saunemin, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Eva King of Winber, PA.; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Raymond, and by two brothers.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Neece Funeral Home in this city. Officiating were Rev. Kenneth Conant and Rev. David Perry.
Pall bearers were: Ray Ohmart, Craig Ohmart, Harold Lowery, Leo Lowery, Maurice Stewart, James Ryan, Albert Edwards and Glenn Miller.
Burial was at Waverly East Cemetery.
Paul Mitchell, 54, of 1916 Dial Ct., formerly of Waverly, died at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Hospital.
He was a storekeeper at Sangamon State University.
Mr. Mitchell was a veteran of World War II and a past master of Waverly Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes; one daughter, Mrs. Marlyn Meyer of Loami; two sons, Allen of Farmington, Mass., Paul of Peoria; two stepson, Melvin Hurley of Calcutta, Ohio, Charles Hurley of Glenarm; three sisters, Mrs. Leona Sanks of Waverly, Mrs. Mary Irvin of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Ida Richardson of Phoenix, Ariz,; four brothers, Reed of Denver, Colo.; George of Chicago, Homer and Ferral, both of Jacksonville; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Neece Funeral Home at Waverly with burial in Waverly Cemetery.
