Iven Wood Dead.

Iven Wood, a well known resident of Morgan County, died at his home one mile east of Pisgah at midnight Tuesday, aged 78 years. He had been in failing health for some years and recently suffered a paralytic stroke which hastened his demise. He died in the same house in which he was born, and with the exception of a few years it was always his home.

He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Camm on Dec. 24, 1862, and eight children were born to their union. Of these three preceded him in death and he is survived by his widow and three sons and two daughters: Charles Wood, Mrs. A. A. Curry and Homer Wood, of Pisgah, Mrs. Elizabeth Hardwick, of Merritt, and Arthur Wood, of Indio, Cal. He also leaves two brothers, Richard and George Wood and one sister, Mrs. Jula Beekman.

Mr. Wood was a member of the Union Baptist church and had served that body as a deacon for forty years. He followed farming all his life, was very successful, and at the time of his death held title to more than 1,000 acres of land.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Union Baptist church Friday morning at 10 o'clock, in charge of Rev. S. M. Boyer of Cincinnati, Ohio, a longtime friend of the family, assisted by the pastor, Rev. F. M. Crabtree.
