AGED RESIDENT OF COUNTY DIES AT HOME OF SON
Isaac Wood Passes Away Suddenly Sunday Morning Near Murrayville - Funeral Today

Isaac Wood, a lifelong resident of Morgan county, died at 10:30 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of his son, William Wood, two and a half miles northwest of Murrayville. Death was sudden, due to senile heart failure. Mr. Wood was 83 years old, having been born in this county Dec. 3, 1835. He was a son of James Wood.

Mr. Wood was a son of James and Rebecca Conlee Wood and was born near Pisgah, Ill., dec. 3rd 1835, being at the time of his death 83 years, 1 month and 10 days of age.

He was united in marriage with Miss Martha Samples Dec. 1st, 1864. He is survived by his widow and one son, W. J. Wood, a daughter, Mrs. Harriette Jameson, preceding him in death.

He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Jane Hutchinson of California.

Mr. Wood united with the Union Baptist church about 70 years ago. He was of a mild disposition, a loving parent and a good neighbor. In early life he made three trips west, driving a covered wagon when they were in constant fear of the Indians.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at Union Baptist church near Pisgah, and will be conducted by Elder Ancel Conlee of White Hall.

Mr. Wood spent most of his life as a resident of the Pisgah community.

The remains are at the J. E. Thompson Funeral Home in Murrayville.
