PISGAH WOMAN DIES SUDDENLY

Mrs. Walter Witham died suddenly at the family home in Pisgah Saturday evening. Dr. R. R. Jones, of Woodson, who was called and arrived after she had passed away, expressed the opinion that her death was caused by heart trouble, with heat exhaustion as a contributory cause.

Mr. and Mrs. Witham drove to Jacksonville Saturday and after returning home and eating supper spent the evening on the porch in an effort to cool off before retiring for the night. Shortly after 9 o'clock they went into the house to prepare for bed. Mr. Witham undressed and got into bed and his wife started into another room for an article of clothing and as she reached the doorway fell in the floor.

Her husband went at once to her assistance, thinking she had fainted, but she was gasping for breath and died in a few minutes. Dr. Jones was called at once, but she had been dead some time when he arrived. The coroner's jury at an inquest held Sunday morning returned a verdict in accordance

with the above facts.

Mrs. Witham was the daughter of Charles Thurston, of Murrayville, and was about 25 years old. She was married to Walter Witham eight years ago and is survived by her husband and one son, Haskell, aged seven years, and a daughter, aged 18 months. She also leaves three brothers and five sisters. She was a member of the Baptist church and a woman esteemed by many friends.

Funeral services were conducted form the Union Baptist church near Pisgah Monday afternoon in charge of Rev. F. M. Crabtree, of White Hall, assisted by Elder J. E. Curry. Interment was made in Union cemetery.
