SMITH, MRS. HENRY (DYER)

Smith

Mrs. Henry Smith, who has been ill for the past five weeks, died Friday at 5:30 o'clock at her home in Franklin. She was born Sept. 28, 1882, near Pisgah, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Dyer. She married DeWitt Scroggins, December 25, 1899. Two children were born to his union, a daughter dying in infancy, and one son, Russel, surviving.

She was married the second time to Henry Smith, Dec. 24, 1906 and they were the parents of two children, Ethel and Wendell. They, with the father survive. She also leaves her father and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. John Samples, Mrs. Dio Duke, Mrs. Corland Miller of this county, Mrs. James Deardorff, Morrisonville; Wilson of Wayne county, Roy and Ernest of Franklin. One brother, Robbie, died in infancy and another brother, Alvin Dyer, survives.

The funeral will probably be held Sunday.
