Carlisle.

Mrs. Anna M. Cooper Carlisle, widow of Edwin Hoopes Carlisle, died at 11:30 this morning at her home 2� miles south of Pisgah. She was born in Bucks county, Pennsylvania, Nov. 20, 1814, and was married to Edwin Hoopes Carlisle, Feb. 20, 1834. She was the mother of 1 children, five of whom are still living: anna A. Stott, Phoenixville, Pa.; James Addison Carlisle, Orleans, Neb.; Phoebe H. Cole, Red Bud, Kansas; Lavina M. Gibson, Pisgah, Illinois; Anna M. Rottger, of this city.

isgah.

The funeral of Mrs. Anna M. Carlisle, widow of Edwin Hoopes Carlisle, was held Sunday at 12 o'clock from Union Baptist Church, near Pisgah. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Curry, of the Union church, and Rev. Want, of Durbin. A large number of relatives and friends attended the funeral, and a profusion of freely offered flowers showed the esteem in which Mrs. Carlisle was held by all who knew her.

The pall bearers were all grandsons of the deceased and were M. A. Carlisle, Waverly; Earl Roscoe Carlisle, Franklin; Earl Mansfield Carlisle, Franklin; Edwin Gibson, Pisgah; Stanley Gibson, Pisgah, and Fred Rottger, of this city. The remains were interred in Union cemetery.
