TURNER CEMETERY OBITUARIES



TURNER, MARTIN LUTHER

Martin Luther Turner, a long time resident of this city, died Tuesday evening at 7:40, at Passavant hospital, in Jacksonville, where he had been a patient for three weeks.

Deceased was born February 24, 1860, on a farm southwest of Waverly, and was 81 years of age at the time of his death. He was married to Rachel Whitlock, who died forty-five years ago.

Surviving are one daughter, Miss Katherine, who teaches in Alexander; one sister, Mrs. C. E. Wilson of Springfield; three brothers, A. W. Turner, of Clinton, Ohio; L. B. Turner, of Jacksonville, and J. E. Turner of Waverly.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Neece Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. W. D. Humphrey, pastor of the Loami Methodist Church.

Miss Mattie Deatherage played two piano selections, "Consolation", and "Dear Lord and Father of Mankind."

The pall bearers were Ira Flynn, Dennis Maher, John Turner, Edgar Short, Ralph Sims and Harold Sims.

The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Earl Muckleston, Mrs. Cloyd Beerup, Mrs. Lee Hughes, Mrs. Robert Henderson, Mrs. Dennis Maher, and Miss Golda Cline.

Burial was in Turner Cemetery, southwest of Waverly.
