VELA DALEY, 15, DIES NEAR CHAPIN MONDAY

Chapin, July 20. --Vela Daley, 15, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Daley died at their home in the Bethel community last night at 11 o'clock following an illness of about six months.

She is survived by her parents; one sister, Mrs. Ella Brewer, Chapin; five brothers, John and Dave Daley of Chapin; Loren and Benny Daley at home and James Daley at Naples. Two brothers preceded her in death less than a year and half ago.

The funeral will be held at the home Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. C.F. Langdon officiating. Music will be furnished by Mrs. B.J. Taylor, Mrs. F.G. Eilers, Frank Calloway and F.W. Schultis.

Interment will be made in the Bethel cemetery.

Note: Vella Daly is the correct spelling.

Well Known Young Man Passed Away Sunday
After Lengthy Illness--Funeral Service This Morning

The death of Truman Daly occurred at 4 o'clock Sunday morning at the family home near Bethel, following a long period of ill health. The deceased at the time he was taken ill was a freshman in the Chapin High school. He was for a number of months a patient at Oak Lawn sanatorium near this city and everything possible was done for him, but the end came as noted above.

Truman Daly was born at Bethel, Illinois, March 20th, 1907, and died at the home of his parents, Nov. 18th, 1923. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Daly, seven brothers, John and James of Bethel, Dave of Chapin, Loran of Canton, Ill., Fred of South Bend, Ind., Cecil of New Orleans, La., and Bennie at home; two sisters, Mrs. Arlo Brewer, Chapin and Miss Vella Daly at home.

Funeral services will be held this morning at ten o'clock at the residence in charge of Rev. A.J. Rees of Bluffs. Music will be furnished by a choir composed of Mrs. B.J. Taylor, Mrs. Fred Eilers, W.P. McAdams and Frank Calloway/

The honorary pall bearers (sic) will be Herbert Owens, Orvill Dickins, Albert Newbern, Russel Newbern, John Smith and Fred LaKamp. Active bearers: Lee Smith, John Anderson, William Fisher, Deenen Brewer, Edward LaKamp and Karl Elam. Interment at Tippit cemetery.
