Daniel Stillwell died Thursday morning last week at the home of his son, James, southwest of Waverly, at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 16 days.

He was born in Scott county, August 1, 1840. He married Miss Ellen Knight, who died in 1914. He was a member of New Hope Baptist church.

Deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Gooch, Wellington, Ia.; Mrs. Mary Lumpkins, Granite City; Mrs. Edith Parrish, Franklin; and three sons, James, Frank and Carl, all of Waverly. Four children preceded him in death. He also leaves 28 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock at New Hope Baptist Church. Interment was in Sulphur Springs cemetery, Loami [NOTE: this is incorrect - he was buried in Sulphur Springs Cemetery at Pisgah, Illinois.]
