Mrs. Ellen Spainhower

Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Spainhower, widow of the late John Spainhower, who passed away at her home in the Sulphur Springs neighborhood southeast of Jacksonville, will be held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Sulpher Springs church, Elder F. ____ officiating.

Mrs. Spainhower, a lifetime resident of this county, had been in failing health for several months. She was born Nov. 29, 1855 in the same community in which she died. She was a daughter of Whitfield and Sarah Hope Conlee, her parents being prominent pioneer residents of that section.

Her marriage with Mr. Spainhower was solomnized July 25, 1875. Her husband preceded her in death in January of 1925.

She is survived by three children, Lucie, wife of W.P. Cox of Sulphur Springs, Milton Spainhower, Jacksonville, and John R. Spainhower, Lowder.

The following brothers and sisters survive: Mrs. R. C. Wright, Springfield; Mrs. Ursula Conlee, Sulphur Springs; W. T. Conlee, Roodhouse; Mrs. Samantha Weller, Carlinville and A. J. Conlee, White Hall.
