Gene Crawford, 53, of Springfield dies

Franklin - Gene Crawford, 53, of Springfield died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at St. John's North in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 1, 1935, at Bluffdale, daughter of Arthur and Mary Clanton Schofield. She married Earl Crawford Jr. July 3, 1953, and he died Dec. 24, 1986.

She is survived by two sisters, Marjorie Williams of El Monte, Calif. and Mina Mitchell of Alton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

She was a housekeeper at McFarland Zone Center in Springfield and a member of the Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Neece Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery near Pisgah. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
