SULPHUR SPRINGS CEMETERY OBITUARIES
COX, EMILY ANTLE
Wife of Albert William Cox
(Taken from the Jacksonville, Illinois paper, January 30, 1917.) Morgan County
Mrs. A. W. Cox of Orleans died at Our Savior's hospital Monday afternoon at
1:15 o'clock. Deceased was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. James Antle and was
born near Orleans, November 16, 1845. She was united in marriage to A. W. Cox
about 46 years ago. Besides her husband she is survived by the following
children: Florence and Lloyd, residing at home; Charles Cox, Peoria; Clyde
Cox, Orleans; Iven Cox, Jacksonville. One son, Louis preceded her in death.
Mrs. Cox was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and was a woman
possessed of many strong traits of character which endeared her to a large
circle of friends.
For many years Mrs. Cox had been a resident of the community southeast of
Jacksonville. Her influence for good radiated from that home and so her death
will be mourned in many homes other than her own. Devoted to her family, her
church and her friends. Mrs. Cox lived earnestly and helpfully.
Arrangements for the funeral have been completed and will be held from the
residence Wednesday at 1 o'clock, with interment in Sulphur Springs cemetery.
