Buchanan.

Ancil Buchanan, son of Benjamin and Mary Bowyer Buchanan, was born in Sulphur Springs neighborhood, August 27, 1848. He died September 9, 1916 at 5:10 a.m., at his home seven miles southwest of Waverly. Mr. Buchanan has been a life long resident of Morgan county, having lived here sixty-eight years and twelve days.

He was married to Julia Ann Cox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Cox of near Orleans, on June 20, 1870. Mr. Buchanan is survived by his wife, four brothers and two half-brothers who are: Thomas, William and Benjamin F. of Pisgah, and John Alexander of Jacksonville, E. T. Sample of Pisgah and J. D. Sample of Auburn; also two sisters who preceded him in death, Mrs. Elizabeth Parmenter and Mrs. Mary Summers.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Sulphur Springs church near Pisgah, Rev. Ed Curry officiating. Interment was in Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
