Mary A. Austin was born March 10, 1828. Died at her home in Waverly July 14, 1902, being 74 years, 4 months and 4 days old. She was united in marriage to Celah Scott, in 1848. To this union eleven children blessed their home, ten of them having preceded her to her heavenly home, leaving one heart to bleed alone. She was converted and joined the M. E. church at Appalonia more than fifty years ago. While she was not permitted to attend public worship as some, she never lost sight of her Savior, having died fully trusting in him.

She leaves to mourn her loss one daughter, five grandchildren, one brother and many sorrowing friends. But we sorrow not as those who have no hope trusting that she is peacefully at rest.

Funeral at M.E. Church 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Rev. Black conducted the service assisted by Rev. Akers.
