HERMAN SHUMAKER

Shumaker.

Herman Shumaker, a life-long resident of Morgan county, died at 7:40 o'clock Tuesday night at his home six miles southwest of the city. He was born August 1, 1855, a son of Michael and Isabel Shumaker.

Decedent was first married to Miss Martha Sheppard of Woodson October 28, 1875. She preceded him in death on April 7, 1909. On January 17, 1812 (1912), he was married to Sarah Watts Busey.

Surviving the decedent are the following children: Mrs. Minnie A. Mawhon, Murrayville; Walter A. Shumaker, jacksonville; Ernest G., Chicago; and Mrs. Mary Louise Crewes of Emporia, Kansas; one step-daughter, Miss Marie Busey, at home. One daughter, Mrs. Cora Belle, preceded him in death. He is also survived by three brothers, Edward of Virden, Reuben of Gardinia, Cal., and Fred of Hazen, Ark., and by eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will probably be held Friday afternoon from the First Baptist church with interment in Roberts cemetery.
