Mrs. Mary Russell, Former Resident of Woodson, Succumbs
Funeral Services Will Be Held Tuesday Afternoon at Woodson Church
Mrs. Mary Alice Russell, wife of Allan G. Russell, passed away Sunday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Alton Memorial hospital, after an extended illness. Mrs. Russell, who had lived at Alton about 10 years, was a former well known resident of the Woodson community. She was 53 years of age.
She was a daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Irlam. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson of Alton and Winifred Russell, at home; one brother Charles E. Irlam, Woodson; six sisters, Mrs. S. A. Gunn, Chicago; Mrs. M. L. Watt, Mrs. I. H. Barrow and Mrs. J. T. Butler of Jacksonville; Mrs. Lloyd Darwent, Franklin, and Mrs. R. H. Blimling, Woodson. One brother, John W. Irlam, preceded her in death. She is survived by two grandchildren, Jeanette and Mary Alice Johnson.
Mrs. Russell was a member of the Alton Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at Alton, after which the remains will be taken to Woodson for final services Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Woodson Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in the Roberts cemetery.
