Phyllis Hamilton Dies Wednesday, Rites Saturday
Mrs. Phyllis Hamilton, 85 who made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Ina Marie Mueller of 1420 Passavant Drive, passed away at 2:45 pm Wednesday at Holy Cross hospital where she had been a patient since Nov. 1st. Mrs. Hamilton, a former Chapin resident, was a member of the Chapin Christian church.
She was born in Kansas October 23, 1882, daughter of William and Sedarah Bobbett DeSollar. She was married April 12, 1905 to Owen Hamilton, who died in 1950.
Surviving are three daughters: Margaret Ann, wife of William Miller of Virden, Mrs. Gladys Wohlers and Ina Marie, wife of Harvey Mueller, of Jacksonville; three brothers: Elza DeSollar of Beardstown, Frank of Jacksonville and George of Decatur; a sister, Mrs. Vivian Stowe of Miami, Fla.; 26 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
One son, one daughter and two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services have been set at 1:30 pm Saturday at the Williamson Funeral Home. Rev E.A. Feisal will officiate and interment will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 pm Friday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Phyllis Hamilton were held at 1:30 pm Saturday at the Williamson Funeral Home with Rev. E.A. Feisal officiating.
Peggy Maddox, soloist, was accompanied by Mrs. G.O. Webster at the organ.
Assisting with the flowers were Kay Wohlers, Naomi Wohlers, Kay Mueller, Thelma Wohlers and Gloria Mueller.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Ginder, Paul Duffelmeier, Jerry Barrington, Larry Sweatman, Kenneth DeSollar and Owen Wohlers.
Burial was in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
Obituary
Owen Pierce Hamilton was born March 14, 1878, three miles east of Bluffs. The only child of Charlie C. and Lizzie Cowles Hamilton, and departed this life about 11 o'clock am Monday, April 24, 1950, at the age of 72 years, 1 month, 10 days.
On April 12, 1905 he was united in marriage with Phyllis DeSollar and to this union was born five children.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Gladys Wohlers of Jacksonville; Ina Marie Mueller of Naples; and Margaret Ann Stone of Versailles; and 24 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alene who died at the age of 24, and a son, Charles, in infancy.
He was a member of the Chapin Christian Church.
---------------------------------O.P. HAMILTON Dies Suddenly Near Chapin

Owen P. Hamilton, a well known farmer residing two miles west of Chapin, died suddenly Monday morning at 11 o'clock at his home from a heart attack.
Mr. Hamilton, who was 72 years old, was taking down storm windows from his home, assisted by his wife, when he was stricken. Dr. H.W. Newcomb of Jacksonville was called, but Mr. Hamilton passed away within a short time.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis DeSollar Hamilton, and three daughters, Gladys Wohlers of this city, Margaret Stone of Versailles and Ina Marie Mueller of Naples.
One daughter, Alene, passed away 17 years ago.
Mr. Hamilton had resided in the Bethel community for 45 years. He was a member of the Chapin Christian church.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of Schaefer Funeral Home of Mereodisa. The body will be returned to the residence at 10 am Wednesday.

Funeral services for Owen P. Hamilton were conducted at the Chapin Christian church at 2 pm Thursday. Rev. Fred Wilson officiated.
Two hymns, "In the Garden" and "Shall We Gather At The River" were sung by Mrs. Anna Delph, Mrs. Maryetta Goffinett, Mr. Fred Schultis and Mr. Harry Onken.
The many floral tributes were cared for by Mrs. Charles Wright, Mrs. Andrew Detmer, Mrs. Clarence Hamilton, Mrs. Roy Schone, Mrs. Lou Baird, Mrs. Leora Rawlings, Mrs. Emory Story, Miss Adelia Hamilton and Miss Irene Hamilton
