Virginia Hacker, 70, died Tuesday evening
Virginia Eileen Hacker, 70, R. R. 4, Jacksonville, died Tuesday evening, June 12, 1990, at the Jacksonville Convalescent Center.
She was born March 22, 1920, in Jacksonville, the daughter of James and Viola Holt Hicks. She married Opal Hacker on Aug. 4, 1940, in Jacksonville.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Joanne) Rogers of Virginia; two grandchildren, Mrs. Donald (Lesley) Elston of Springfield and Charles Christopher Rogers of Japan; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Florence Marine, Nell Mason and Frances Halligan, all of Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Hacker was employed for 21 years at J. Capps & Sons factory as a finisher, and was employed many years at MacMurray College in the athletic department. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday and the family will meet with friends 7-9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Woodhaven Hospice or Jacksonville Convalescent Center.
