Sedarah DeSollar Dies At Passavant Hospital Saturday
Mrs. Sedarah Ann DeSollar died Saturday evening at Passavant Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. She was born near Chapin, May 30, 1861, daughter of Elzerah and Elizabeth Ann Cash Bobbitt. She was married to William H. DeSollar Sept 11, 1879 in Kansas and to this union seven children were born: two daughters and five sons, all surviving. They are Mrs. Vivian Stowe, with whom she made her home at 207 Kentucky street; Mrs. Phyllis Hamilton Chapin; Albert & Frank DeSollar of Jacksonville; Elza of Beardstown; George of Decatur and Oliver of Chicago. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Dick Dyer and Mrs. Lottie Rose of Carthage, Mo: 12 grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Her husband, Mr. DeSollar, died May 7, 1896.
She was a member of the Grace Methodist Church; Past Worthy Matron of the Jewel Chapter of the Eastern Star, Basco, Ill.
Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 pm at the Cody and son Memorial Home. The family will meet friends Monday from 7-9 pm.
Interment will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
