He was converted 50 years ago at New Hope, in a meeting conducted by Rev. Wm. Hart. He bore his suffering patiently and was submissive to God's will.

He was married to Elizabeth Dennis, September 6, 1860. To this union fourteen children were born, three of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, and eleven children: Everett Miner of Moran, Kansas; Thomas Miner of Nortonville; Mrs. Frank Mulch of Withee, Wis.; Mrs. Charles Sevier of Englewood, Colo.; Mrs. George Leake of Medora; Mrs. Dale Seymour, Franklin; Mrs. Albert Thompson and Mrs. Wilbert Scott, Girard; Mrs. Allen turner, Albert and Homer Miner, of Waverly; also forty-three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Reasner, of Florida.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 15, at 2 p.m. in the M.E. Church, South, Rev. R. J. Watts, of Girard, officiating. Interment was in East cemetery.

"Call not back the dear departed,
Anchored safe where storms are o'er,
On the border land we left him,
Soon to meet and part no more.
When we leave this world of changes,
When we leave this world of care,
We shall find our missing loved one
In our Father's mansion fair.
