ELKHORN. DEATH OF MRS. LEWIS
Death has again visited our quiet neighborhood, taking from our midst our kind friend and neighbor, Mrs. Lyde Lewis, who died last Sunday morning at 4 o'clock. Mrs. Lewis has been sick for some time, but was supposed to be recovering from her illness, till very recently she was taken suddenly worse. She leaves a family of three little children, the oldest being about 8 years old. The funeral discourse was preached at the family residence on Sunday evening at five o'clock, by Rev. G. W. Miller, of Woodson. Mr. Miller delivered a very good discourse, taking his text in the 17th verse of the 5th chapter of Corinthians. At the conclusion of the sermon the friends of the family looked for the last time at the remains, after which they were removed to the Lewis' family burying grounds for interment. Following are the names of the pall bearers: Job Angelo, John Busey, James Angel, John Worline, Charles Busey and Samuel Thompson. The deceased was a lady of excellent character, and leaves many friends to mourn her untimely death. The family have the sympathy of the neighborhood in their severe affliction.
