Joanna's second husband was Thomas Bowen however, Morgan County Marriage Register Book 2, page 11, shows Mrs. Johanna M. Eilers married Thomas Bourn in Morgan County on Dec. 6, 1888. Born in England 55 years earlier, Thomas said his parents were William and Sarah Bowen. The marriage register on the same page showed Johanna M. Eilers listed as a widow and also as her first marriage. She said she was a 57 year old German native. She listed her parents as Henry and Rickie Tolan. Her death certificate in Morgan County is registered under the name of Johanna Eiler. It shows that she was born in Germany. It further shows that she was a widow who died 30 Dec 1901 at age 67 years 9 months. Cause of death was thrombosis and general dropsy. Place of burial was on the home farm

Mrs. Johanna Eiler, of Concord, died suddenly Monday evening about 5:45, as the effects of a malady from which she had suffered for some months. The deceased was about 69 years old and is survived by six children, Henry in Missouri, Fred in this city and Ed at home, Mrs. Frank Hayden, of this city, and Mrs. Joseph bourn and Homer Bourn, of Kansas. The funeral will be from the house this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
