Dies Thursday
George A. Waggener, 730 Goltra avenue, died at nine o'clock Thursday morning at his residence following an illness of several months.
Mr. Waggener was born Oct. 31, 1883 on a farm near Sinclair, the son of Thomas and Matilda Denny Waggener. He was married to Agnes Mae Sheeley Oct. 10, 1905 and she survives with the following children: Harold and Donald, Jacksonville; Claude of Astoria; Mrs. Dorothy Spaenhower and Mrs. Virginia Hickey, also of Jacksonville. One daughter died in infancy.
Mr. Waggener was the last of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. There are 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The deceased retired from farming eight years ago and moved to this city. Of late he has been caretaker for the Ebenezer Cemetery northwest of the city. He was a member of the Literberry Christian church.
The body was taken to the Williamson Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Arnold Whitler officiating. Burial will be made in Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
