Inez H. Scott, 72, of 1930 Plum St., died 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born July 29, 1916, in Arenzville, daughter of George and Kathryn Rentschler Houston. She married Edward A. Scott March 17, 1940, in Jacksonville, and he survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Judith) E. Woolfolk of R.R.2 Franklin; a son, James E. Scott of Woodson; seven grandchildren, Kim, Kevin and Krista Scott and Susan, Diane, Amy and Michael Woolfolk; a step-grandson, Eric Moore; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Cully and Mrs. Dewey (Esther) Petefish, both of Jacksonville; and two brothers, Russell Houston of Galesburg and Robert Houston of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, a sister and four brothers.
She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, the UMW of the church, the Mound Women's Club, the YWS Club, and Order of the Eastern Star Wilbur Chapter 358.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home, with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday, with family to meet friends 7-9 p.m. Memorials may be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church or Illinois Kidney Foundation.
