Muriel McFadden
Dies; Funeral
Rites Saturday
Mrs. Muriel McFadden, widow of the late J. Howard McFadden, died Wednesday afternoon at Passavant Hospital following a lingering illness.
She was born in the Joy Prairie Community northwest of the city Oct. 15, 1893, the daughter of Richard and Emma Mae Doran Standley. On February 16, 1921, her marriage to J. Howard McFadden was solemnized. To this union two daughters were born. One died in infancy, the other, Elynor, survives, the wife of Robert Nergenah of Concord. There is one grandson, William Nergenah. Mr. McFadden preceded his wife in death on Sept. 22, 1951.
One sister and two brothers also survive: Mrs. Beatrice Brockhouse of Galesburg, Ill., Lloyd Standley of Beardstown, Ill., and Marvin Standley of Coffeyville, Kan.
Mrs. McFadden was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church and Caritas Rebecca Lodge 625.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Williamson Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Marston will officiate, with interment in Ebenezer cemetery.
The family will meet friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
