Floyd D. "Curly" McDade
1941-2000

Floyd C. "Curly" McDade, 58, of Jacksonville died Thursday morning, March 2, 2000, at his residence of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Scott County, the son of William and Cecil Little McDade. He married Janet Stewart Aug. 29, 1980, in Jacksonville, and she survives.

He is also survived by a daughter, Teresa (husband, Mike) Francis of Jacksonville, two sons, Jim (wife, Michelle) McDade of Jacksonville and Ed (wife, Paula) Stewart of South Jacksonville; four granddaughters; four grandsons; a sister, Edith (husband, George) Hoots of Winchester; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marie Hoots; and six brothers, Ivan, Archie, Howard, Ralph, Paul and Eldon.

Mr. McDade was a former farmer and was formerly employed for eight years as a driver for Rouland Trucking Co. He was a graduate of Winchester High School and a former member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church in Scott County. He was a member of Jacksonville Moose Lodge.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Ebenezer Cemetery north of Jacksonville. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Visiting Nurses Association of Morgan and Scott Counties.
