Jordan.
The funeral services of Charles N. Jordan were conducted Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Ebenezer church, in charge of Rev. W. S. Phillips. Music appropriate for the occasion was furnished by the church choir. There were many beautiful flowers and these were in charge of Mrs. Hattie Patterson, Mrs. Emma Masters and Mrs. Clara Paschall. Interment was made in Ebenezer cemetery and the bearers were Charles Middleton, John Cully, Fletcher Blackburn, Ernest Walter, Carl Martin and Charles Hadden.
Charles N. Jordan was born March 17, 1862, and died at 4:15 a.m. March 9, 1908, at the family residence, northwest of Jacksonville. He was the son of John F. and Cynthia Jordan, his mother preceding him in death years ago. He is survived by his father, two brothers, William of Chandlerville, and John B., and two sisters, Lida and Hattie Jordan, all of the Ebenezer neighborhood.
While for many years he had been a sufferer, he was ever patient and thoughtful for others and when the final summons came he was found ready and willing to go, welcoming death which should free him from the sufferings of his life.
