Mrs. Jewel Johnson,
Visiting Nurses aide,
dies here Sunday

Mrs. Jewel Johnson, 65, wife of Ralph W. Johnson, 1039 North Diamond street, died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday at Passavant hospital where she became a patient late Saturday afternoon after suffering an attack at her home. Mrs. Johnson was a home health aide with the Visiting Nurses Association.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Russell County, Kentucky, daughter of James E. and Lola Toler Coe. She married Mr. Johnson in this city March 27, 1932. In addition to her husband, one son, Ernest W. Johnson of Batavia, survives, along with two grandsons, Mike and Mark.

These sisters and brothers survive: Mrs. Beatrice Turner, Mrs. Sarah Preston and Sam Coe, all of Jacksonville, and Bishop Coe of Springfield, Ohio. Two brothers and two sisters preceded in death.

The deceased was a member of Literberry Baptist church where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Andy Burklow officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Literberry Baptist church.

Friends may call at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
