Alfred Hart Harrison, of Virginia, and formerly a Waverly resident, died Sunday, March 18, at 6:3 p.m., at Passavant hospital, Jacksonville where he had been a patient two weeks. Although he had been seriously ill while in the hospital, his death occurred unexpectedly. He was 54 years of age, and was a retired consignee of the Phillips Petroleum Company.

Mr. Harrison was born at Philadelphia, in Cass county, on May 29, 1901, the son of the late Edwin T. and Anna Louise Hart Harrison. In his early life the family moved to Waverly, where he attended the schools, and graduated from Waverly Township High school in 1920.

On June 24, 1925, he was married to Miss Dorothy Roberts, of Jacksonville, by Rev. Francis E. Smith at his home in Gibson City. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison lived for a time in Jacksonville, then moved to Virginia, where they have since resided.

Surviving are his wife; six children, Phyllis, Robert, William Theodore, Lawrence E. and James R., all of Virginia; two brothers, Allen C. Harrison of Chicago, and Edwin T. Harrison of New Douglas; and two sisters, Mrs. L. E. Welch and Mrs. Harold Lowery, of Waverly.

In his young manhood Mr. Harrison united with the Waverly Methodist church, later transferring his membership to the Methodist church at Virginia.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'oclock, at the Methodist church in Virginia, the pastor, Rev. Floyd Brewer, officiating.

Interment was made in Ebenezer cemetery, northwest of Jacksonville.
