ALEXANDER
Margaret Ellen Strawn Wade Sullivan, 85, of Alexander died Wednesday morning, May 15, 2002, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 3, 1916, in Prentice, the daughter of Thomas G. and Stella Greenwalt Beadles. She married William Strawn in the mid 1930s and he preceded her in death. She married Lee Wade and he also preceded her in death. She later married Joseph Sullivan Jan. 27, 1995, in California, and he survives at Alexander.

She is survived by one stepson, Bernard (wife, Loretta) Sullivan of Tennessee; one step-daughter, Norma (husband, Jerry) McDonald of Macomb; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Byron (wife, Nancy) Beadles of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur and John Paul.

Mrs. Sullivan was employed with S.S. Kresge's, later Kmart, for over 35 years, beginning in the Chicago area and later in Springfield. She was a member of the Alexander United Methodist Church at Alexander, and the United Methodist Women. She was a member of AMVET Auxiliary 100, Alexander Women's Club, and Order of Eastern Star, Wilbur Chapter 358 in Jacksonville. She sang with the Villatones and Sweet Adalines.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Church of the Visitation in Alexander, or the donor's choice.
