On Monday last Mrs. Lincoln Hobbs died very suddenly at 11 a.m. The funeral took place the following day at the Davis cemetery in the Durbin neighborhood. She leaves to small children to mourn her loss.

William Hobbs died at the Passavant hospital in Jacksonville on Wednesday evening, May 1, 1918, age 47 years, 7 months and 28 days, having been ill with pneumonia two months.

He was the son of Mrs. Mary A. Hobbs, of Franklin, and was united in marriage with Mary E. Newman on April 3, 1894. Six children were born to this union, two preceding the father in death. Those surviving are Miss Fidelia Hobbs of Peoria, Mrs. Manilla Richards, Frank and George of Jacksonville. Besides his mother, wife and chidlren, he also leaves two sisters and five brothers, Mrs. Nellie Graham of Peoria, Mrs. Myrtle Spires of Jacksonville, Lincoln Hobbs of Inman, Kan., Henry and David Hobbs of Franklin, Curtis Hobbs of White Hall and Jesse Hobbs, of Colby, Kan., and one grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted from the family residence in Jacksonville Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in charge of Rev. F. B. Madden, pastor of Grace M.E. church of that city. Music was furnished by Mrs. E. C. Carpenter, Miss Cora Graham, Miss Carlson and T. H. Rapp. The flowers were cared for by Misses Daisy Faulkner, Harriet Cox, Bessie Spires and Dell Kelly.

Interment was made in the Davis cemetery west of town. The bearers were David Hobbs, George M. Spires, Perry Cowgur, Robert Spainhower and Lincoln Hobbs.
