Paul Bergschneider dies Friday morning
Paul B. Bergschneider, 71, of 534 W. Walnut St. died at 8:10 a.m. Friday, March 31, at his residence.
He was born June 22, 1917, at Pisgah, son of A. K. and Anna Burhe Bergschneider. He married Alma Miller of June 19, 1947. She died in July 1960. He then married Virginia Belton on Nov. 18, 1967 in Jacksonville. She survives, along with four daughters, Mrs. Jim (Mary) Burrus of Jacksonville, Mrs. Terry (Ellen) Mattox of Springfield, Mrs. Charlie (Barbara) Kaufmann of Jacksonville and Megan Bergschneider at home; two brothers, Robert Bergschneider of Franklin and Bernard Bergschneider of Pomeroy, Wash,; one sister, Rose Volger of Jacksonville; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother.
He was a graduate of Routt High School and Brown's Business College. He was a mail carrier for 30 years for the Jacksonville Post Office. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He was a member of the Church of Our Saviour.
Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of Our Saviour with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at Reavy Funeral Home with family to meet friends 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Church of Our Saviour, Lou Gehrig's Disease or Visiting Nurses Association.
