John P. Mieher, 80, of Roodhouse dies

Roodhouse - John P. Mieher, 80, of Roodhouse died at 10:58 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Passavant Hospital.

He was born April 6, 1907, near Carlinville, son of Edward C. and Irma Hamilton Mieher. He married Ella Morris on Dec. 26, 1943, in Jacksonville. She survives along with one son, John E. Mieher of Roodhouse; one sister, Lucille Appleman of Los Angeles, Calif.; three nieces; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Edward and Herbert.

He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville. He farmed in Macoupin and Greene Counties all his life and was a member of the Farm Bureau for many years.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse with burial in Bull Cemetery in Franklin. Visitation will be 4 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Bull Cemetery of the Salem Lutheran Church.
