Ella M. Mieher

Ella M. Mieher, 88, of rural Roodhouse died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 21, 1999, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

She was born Oct. 1, 1911, south of Franklin, the daughter of Jacob Edmond and Mary Seymour Morris. She married John P. Mieher on Dec. 26, 1943, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in deeath on Oct. 18, 1987.

She is survived by one sister, Martha McNeely of Jacksonville; one brother, Clyde Morris of Alton; one niece; several nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, John E.

Mrs. Mieher graduated from the Passavant School of Nursing in 1933 and was a Registered Nurse at Passavant Area Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, Greene County Farm Bureau, Greene County Home Extension, and a board member of Bull Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse with burial at Bull Cemetery, south of Franklin. The family will meet friends from noon until time of services. Memorials are suggested to the Salem Lutheran Church or Bull Cemetery.
