Many Years Passes Away at Age
of 81-Funeral Tuesday

Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Hart, widow of the late Solomon Hart, passed away at 4 o'clock Sunday morning, Oct. 16, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. C. Hicks, and family, 253 Pine street. She was a lifetime resident of Morgan county, and a member of a well known pioneer family.

At the time of death Mrs. Hart was nearly 81 years of age. She had been in failing health for several weeks, a stroke of paralysis early Sunday morning resulting in death.

Mrs. Hart was born south of Franklin, Oct. 20, 1851, a daughter of Green and Elizabeth Haynes. She was united in marriage with Mr. Hart on Nov. 17, 1870.

Mr. and Mrs. Hart spent all of their married life in the Hartland neighborhood where they were highly respected. Both families were early settlers in this section of the state.

The decedent was a devoted member of the Hart's Prairie Baptist church. She was a woman of fine Christian qualities, who rendered her family, friends and community her untiring services.

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Bert Cox, Mrs. Shely Smith, Mrs. L. C. Hicks and Clyde Hart, all of Jacksonville; Mrs. Bert McNeely, Pisgah; Mrs. S. A. Seymour, Commerce, Okla., and Mrs. Ross Dugger, Anderson, Ia. Three sons preceded her in death. There is one brother Lucien Haynes of this city; eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hart died last February, and since that time Mrs. Hart made her home in this city.

Brief services will be held Tuesday noon at the Hick's residence on Pine street, followed by the funeral at 2 o'clock at Hart's Prairie church south of Franklin. Rev. T. Harley Marsh, pastor of the First Baptist church of this city will officiate. Interment will be made in Bull cemetery.
