Esther Mae Gray

WAVERLY - Esther Mae Gray, 69, of Girard, and formerly of Waverly, died Sunday Aug. 16, 1998, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Aug. 2, 1929, in Sioux Falls, S.C., and was raised in the Waverly area by George and Dolly Edwards. She married Alfred Lloyd Gray Aug. 2, 1947, and he preceded her in death in August, 1986.

She is survived by two sons, Morris L. (wife, Beverly) of Girard, and Larry L. (wife, Cindy) of Carlinville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gray was a member of Pleasant Dale Southern Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Neece Funeral Home in Waverly, with burial at Bull Cemetery in rural at Bull Cemetery in rural Franklin. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with the family receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Carmi Children's Home.
