Death's Doings.
At Murrayville Friday occurred the death of Mrs. Sarah E. Lightfoot, wife of Dr. P.F. Lightfoot and mother of Mrs. S.D. Masters, of this city. Mrs. Lightfoot had been for over a year a sufferer from bronchitis, which developed into consumption. She had been failing for several weeks past, and though the end was not unexpected, her death is a heavy blow to her husband and children.
Mrs. Lightfoot was born 55 years ago in Morgan county, her parents being Mr. an Mrs. Jos. Edwards, two of the oldest settlers in this region, both of whom are now dead. It is 38 years since she was married to Dr. Lightfoot, and all her life has been spent in Murrayville. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was a great worker for the weal of Christianity, being one of the most active of all the ladies connected with the organization in Murrayville. She leaves three children, Mrs. Masters of Jacksonville, Beatrice and Jos. T. Lightfoot of Murrayville. The funeral will occur Sunday at 2 o'clock in the Murrayville M. E. church.
